Happy Father's Day!

We had a very low key Father's Day. We went to church and then hung out by the pool. I made Chuck a special dinner and I picked up one of his favorite desserts to show him how much we appreciate him. We really do have a great Dad. Happy Father's Day, Chuck - We love you!

Science Experiment

This week has been VBS week and we had an extra special treat. Our friends came and stayed with us so they could attend VBS too! We had the best time. One afternoon after lunch Chuck pulled out one of his science experiments and had the boys look for clear balls. These balls fill up with water and then when they are in the water, you can't see them. It was fun to watch them search for the magic balls.

End of the Year Program

Tonight was TJ's end of year program. I was really proud of the way he sang at the program. After it was over they had cake and punch for the kids. I can't believe that next year will be his last year in preschool. He really is growing up fast. Tyler is going to stay home one more year and then he will start preschool.

Chuck and I got to go away for a long weekend to celebrate our 9 year anniversary. We were gone 3 nights and really enjoyed our time together. It was great to be able to do somethings that we enjoy doing. We hiked a lighthouse and enjoyed walks on the beach. We rode our bikes around St. Simon's Island and enjoyed each others company. We are SO thankful for our friendship and the time we have to reconnect without the kids. We LOVE being parents but we still enjoy just being a COUPLE. Happy Anniversary Chuck, I am the luckiest girl in the world to be married to such a great guy. I enjoy sharing my life with you and I look forward to many more years of adventure with you!

Green Eggs and Ham

TJ and Tyler have heard the story "Green Eggs and Ham" so much that they can "read" it to each other. Tonight TJ was reading to Tyler - it was such a sweet "picture". TJ uses great animation when he reads. They have the computer program for this book at Gram's house and they much have played it 100 times!

Sunrise Service

This year we got up and went to a sunrise service for Easter. After the service we went to our church to teach Sunday School and then to Gram's for lunch.

This year we attended the Saturday night Easter service at our church.

The boys got to visit the Easter Bunny today. They were SO cute. I was proud of them, they went right up and started telling the Easter Bunny what they wanted. I am not sure how they knew the Easter Bunny brought toys, but they knew!

Our neighborhood has an annual Easter egg hunt and we always enjoy taking the boys out to hunt for eggs. This year TJ also enjoyed the "games" they had for the kids. It is always fun to meet some of the neighbors and the boys enjoyed getting candy.

Life at Camp

We had a family tent and then a tent house to go over the picnic table.

When we needed to get something done - the boys stayed in the van a watched DVD's. It was much easier that way! At "camp" there was lots of dirt and since we brought some of the boys dump trucks they stayed in the dirt most of the time. The only problem with that was Tyler HATES and I mean HATES showers and when you are camping the only way to clean up is to shower. What does a two year old do when his doesn't like something? You guessed it - he screams. So I got the pleasure of taking a screaming two year old into a public restroom to "shower". You would have thought I was torturing him, but I was just trying to clean him up.

Overall, we had a great time camping and we look forward to many more family trips. I think next time we may look into renting a trailer!

Daddy's Birthday

As you know - we have the BEST Daddy in the whole wide world. That is why we celebrate him on his birthday. This year it was very low key. We just had the family over for dinner and daddy got a few gifts. Our mission this year was to register Chuck for the Marine Corp Marathon. The day to register was the day after his birthday. He was not only given the money to run the race but we were also given gift cards to help us on our trip and we were given Metro cards to ride the Metro when we are in town. We are both excited about this opportunity. Chuck is wanting to qualify for the Boston marathon and this race is a qualifying race. I am so proud of him for being willing to train for another race.
